PRESS RELEASE

According to BH Rescue Coordination Center and rescue units information, the corps of all nine accident victims has been found at the site of the accident. Search operations are terminated, and the rescue teams are taking the operation on removal of the victims.

 Further activities on accident investigation will be taken over by the BH Directorate of Civil Aviation Investigation Team led by Investigator in charge and BH Public Attorney.

 In the interest of ongoing investigation BH Directorate of Civil Aviation and BH Rescue and Coordination Center will not provide knew information on this case, and all the activities on informing the public will take over the Council of Ministers Crisis Center.

PRESS RELEASE

According to BH Search and Rescue Center information, rescue units approached the site from where the wreckage of Macedonian aircraft is visible. The parts of aircraft are spread in the zone of 200 m, and activities of demining the passage to the wreckage are in process, which will take at least one hour. For the moment there are no indices of possible survivors.

Sarajevo, 27.02.2004.- According to BH Search and Rescue Center information, helicopter rescue unit succeeded to locate the site of Macedonian aircraft accident in the region of village Huskovici at 08, 30 AM. Rescue Units on field are on their way to the site, and the mine checking of that area is in process.

PRESS RELEASE

 Directorate of Civil Aviation of B&H, have been informed by the responsible air traffic control service at the Mostar Airport (SFOR – Detair) that contact was lost with the aircraft of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, type BE-20, registration mark Z3-BAB, on the flight from Skopje to Mostar at 08,05. In accordance with available information there were 7 passengers and 2 crew members aboard.  B&H Search and Rescue service in cooperation with SFOR took immediate action to carry out search and rescue operations in accordance with law, prescribed procedures and international rules.  Also, in accordance with international rules and procedures an Investigation Commission for aviation accidents and incidents shall be established.

The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on its session held on December 5, 2003 approved the ratified the EUROCONTROL Conventions and the Accession Protocol of the European Community to EUROCONTROL. The expected date of entry into force of the Accession is 1st March 2004. This important step for Bosnia and Herzegovina toward European integrations in the area of civil aviation opens a large field of closer cooperation and partnership with other European countries, aiming at common goal - Single European Sky.

The Framework Plan for Development of the ATM Strategy in Bosnia and Herzegovina was indorsed by BH Council of Ministers on its 35. session held on December 19, 2003. This Framework Plan represents solid base for development of long term BH ATM Strategy, which will be consistent with regional requirements, globally inter-operable and financially sustainable. ATM Strategy of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be developed in full compliance with principles defined in Eurocontrol Air Traffic Management Strategy for the years 2000+.

From the 03JAN 2003, 20:00 UTC the new AFTN COM centre for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BIH) will be operational. BIH AFTN COM centre will be served by the Zagreb COM centre. According to that all the EUR COM centres should check and update their routing tables in order to have:
   - LQ tfc mapped to LDDDA. LDDDA will serve all LQ tfc excluding LQMO;
   - LQMO tfc remains mapped to LFFFA.
An AIC with BiH AFTN addresses will be published in the coming weeks by the BH DCA.

On the 1st Jan 2003, NATO SFOR will withdraw from the ATCof Sarajevo International Airport, the transfer of responsibility to the Civil Aviation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will then be effective. B-Hrtment of Civil Aviation would like to draw the attention of all users of Sarajevo INTL AP on this transition phase starting on 1st Jan 2003 which might lead to reduce the Air Traffic Control capacity and to create some delays. BHDCA wishes to draw the attention of all users of Sarajevo International Airport on the particular care and awareness required from the crews during this adaptation phase of the Civil Air Traffic Services.

NATO CAOC 5 Regulations remain in force until further notice regarding the landing authorizations and the procedures to obtain these authorizations remain unchanged.

From the 1st January, the Sarajevo International Airport is classified in Category B, requiring a specific briefing to crews prior to operations into Sarajevo. An AIC will be published in the coming weeks by BHDCA in order to confirm this re-classification.

From the 3rd January 2003, 20h00 UTC, a new telecommunication system will be operational for all aeronautical messages. The adressing procedures for flight plans will remain the same they are presently.

From the 4th January 2003, TACAN SAR CH 25 Y will be withdrawn. New departure and arrival procedures based on VOR DME KEB and ILS DME BHS will be implemented on this date. NDB FRA remains and additional procedures based on it will be soon published. The charts for the new departure and arrival procedures are available at Sarajevo International Airport Operations.

From the 1st January 2003, only the observation meteo service will be provided on Sarajevo International Airport. The forecast service, namely TAF and Flight Preview, will provided on a remote basis by  Croatia Control Limited meteo services in Zagreb.
