A meeting, organised by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Directorate of Civil Aviation (BHDCA) and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency (BHANSA), was held on 11 September 2018 at the BHDCA premises in Banja Luka, and was attended, in addition to representatives of the organisers, also by representatives of the civil aviation authorities and air navigation service providers of Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia.

The topic of the meeting was cooperation and synchronisation of the abovementioned institutions at technical and operational levels as part of Phase II of the takeover by the BHANSA of the provision of services in the upper airspace of Bosnia and Herzegovina, envisaged to take place in December 2019.

A proposal of the 'Airspace Plan' and 'BHATM Transition Plan' was presented at the meeting, with the aim to reach an agreement on the notification and acceptance of changes in the ATM functional system for each air navigation service provider by the national supervisory authorities (NSA), as the service providers of the neighbouring countries, in addition to the BHANSA, are also going to sustain changes conditioned by the takeover of the upper airspace of BIH by the BHANSA.

The BHANSA representatives informed the attendees about the activities implemented thus far within Phase II, and about the activities and processes to be addressed in the forthcoming period as related to an upgrade of the existing and introduction of new technical systems and air traffic controller training, while noting that the so-far cooperation between all the involved parties was very good.

It was noted in the meeting that EUROCONTROL has been actively involved in all the activities and processes relating to the implementation of Phase II.
